Why is it that I sometimes can't tell the difference between a memory and a dream?

I have some theories. Firstly, I'm weird. An easy one. A very possible one too. But then I might have a need to figure out why that is.

Second: my memory is that bad, that my memories are so foggy, that it's easy to forget that I haven't had them for ears, just for a few days. Does that even make sence, to anyone?

The third is that my dreams are just so exeptionally vivid and realistic. Creative people often have these kind of weird things on their mind. That just seemes like flattering myself, though.
